Atlantic College for Young Leaders (ASfYL) was registered as a charity in early 2014 by a group of Atlantic College graduates. After decades spent working in top academic, managerial, political and development positions globally, this group still feel deeply committed to the ideals and ambitions fostered in them when they were 17 or 18 years old. They resolved to help more young people of a similar age develop their skills to effect positive change while remaining true to the United World College commitment to peace, justice and sustainability.

By 2014, ASfYL had appointed Critical Engagement to develop and deliver pioneering summer short courses. The first two were successfully provided in the summers of 2015 and 2016.

We continue to fundraise with individual and corporate partners, to develop the course content, and to seek young people most likely to benefit from the experience. We have challenged ourselves to create a growing network of people and resources and to support ethical and sustainable young leadership.
