Atlantic College for Young Leaders (ASfYL) was registered as a charity in early 2014 by a group of Atlantic College graduates. After decades spent working in top academic, managerial, political and development positions globally, this group still feel deeply committed to the ideals and ambitions fostered in them when they were 17 or 18 years old. They resolved to help more young people of a similar age develop their skills to effect positive change while remaining true to the United World College commitment to peace, justice and sustainability.
ASfYL has worked with Critical Engagement to develop and deliver pioneering summer short courses in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
We continue to fundraise with individual and corporate partners, to develop the course content, and to seek young people most likely to benefit from the experience. We have challenged ourselves to create a growing network of people and resources and to support ethical and sustainable young leadership. For 2019 we are working in partnership with UWC Atlantic College to deliver a summer school for up to 49 young people.
